Appointments

Our practice operates by appointment only to ensure each patient receives the time and attention they need. Our doctors aim to run on time and provide thorough, patient-centred care. Occasionally delays may occur due to urgent medical issues. If this happens, our reception team will keep you informed and appreciate your understanding.

Booking an Appointment

Appointments can be made in two ways:

  • Online  via Healthengine
  • By telephone through our reception team

When booking, please let us know the reason for your visit so we can allocate the most appropriate appointment length. If you are unsure which appointment type you require, our reception staff will be happy to assist.

Appointment types and length

Different appointment lengths are available depending on your needs.

  • Standard Appointment – 15 minutes
Suitable for single or straightforward concerns.
  • Long Appointment – 30 minutes or more
    Recommended if you:
  • have multiple issues to discuss
  • are a new patient
  • require a skin check or minor procedure
  • need a medical report or insurance paperwork
  • require a mental health consultation or care plan
  • managing ADHD and ongoing prescriptions
  • are booking for more than one person

Booking the correct appointment length helps your doctor provide the best care and assists the practice in minimising waiting times. In some cases, if additional issues arise that cannot be addressed within the allocated time, your doctor may ask you to book a follow-up appointment.

Telephone consultations

Telephone consultations may be available when medically appropriate. To be eligible for a Medicare-rebated telehealth consultation, patients must have attended the practice in person within the previous 12 months.  Telehealth consultations are privately billed. Your doctor will advise you if a face-to-face consultation is required.

Urgent appointments

If your condition is urgent, please inform reception when booking. Urgent appointments are prioritised and may be offered with the next available doctor if your usual GP is unavailable. Medical emergencies will always take priority, and occasionally this may cause delays to scheduled appointments.

If you require immediate medical assistance, please call 000.

Home visits

Home visits may be available in limited circumstances for patients who are unable to attend the practice due to medical reasons. These visits are at the doctor’s discretion and are limited to patients within the local area. Please contact reception to discuss availability.

Missed appointments

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please notify the practice at least two hours in advance so the appointment can be offered to another patient. Missed appointments or late cancellations incur a non-attendance fee equivalent to the full consultation fee.  Any outstanding fees must be settled before future appointments can be booked.

Appointment reminders

SMS reminders are sent 24hrs prior to your appointment. These reminders are a courtesy only, so we encourage patients to keep a personal record of their appointment time.
